5th edition of the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen
06.06. –  01.07. / 19. – 28.09.2014

From June 6 to July 1 and in an extension into the fall from September 19 to 28, KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen presented concerts, music theater, discussions and more under the motto "Verhältnisse" (Relations). At the invitation of artistic director Elisabeth Schweeger, internationally renowned artists came to Hannover's Herrenhausen Gardens and its baroque buildings. In 2014, a total of 16 productions on 23 performance days were on the program. With Franz Schubert's Winterreise, the KunstFestSpiele once again forged exemplary links with international festivals such as the Wiener Festwochen and Lincoln Center in New York. Furthermore, the productions by and with artists and composers such as Paul DeMarinis, Heiner Goebbels, and Wolfgang Mitterer, among others, were enthusiastic.

The KunstFestSpiele took up the state exhibition "Hanover's Rulers on England's Throne 1714 - 1836" and extended the festival into the fall with Elena Kats-Chernin's opera George, which premiered at the KunstFestSpiele, and the international co-production Winterreise by Franz Schubert.
