The Herrenhausen Gardens in the north of Hanover were the venue for the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen for the third time in June 2012. Artistic director Elisabeth Schweeger and her team created a diverse, interdisciplinary program under the motto "Fragiles Gleichgewicht" (Fragile Equilibrium), which featured around 20 events in the baroque setting over a period of 17 days. Cross-border projects from the fields of classical music and pop culture, such as the collaboration of Ensemble Resonanz with the HipHop Academy Hamburg and that of the American slam poet Saul Williams with the renowned Arditti String Quartet, offered space for encounters between music, theater, performance and visual arts. 682 international artists* from Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain, Asia and the USA, among others, were guests in Herrenhausen.
With workshops, the Akademdie der Spiele introduced almost a hundred students to the world of artistic creation.
