KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen 2010
"Die Macht des Spiels" (The Power of Play)
1st edition of the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen
04. - 27.06.2010
Under the motto "Die Macht des Spiels" (The Power of Play) the first KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen started in June 2010 in the Herrenhausen Gardens in Hanover and dedicated itself in numerous events to the question of how much play or art man needs for life. Originating from the Herrenhausen Festival Weeks, the state capital of Hanover presented a European festival format from June 4 to 27, 2010, which built a bridge from the Baroque to the present day with performances from the fields of opera, concert, visual arts, philosophy and science.
As the new artistic director, Elisabeth Schweeger and her team presented an artistically diverse, internationally oriented program. Invited artists, performers and ensembles included Heiner Goebbels, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, the Ensemble Modern, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Christoph Schlingensief with his Opera Village and the Swiss artist Roman Signer.
