The Day Before Premieres at the Vienna Festival

German Premiere on May 23 in Hanover

The musical theater production The Day Before by Christiane Jatahy, Rosa Montero, and Brigitta Muntendorf will have its world premiere on Sat, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Vienna Festival at the Odeon. The German premiere follows on Saturday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen in Hanover.

The focus is on the last night before the start of the great war: people are celebrating as if they could dance their way out of doom. The Day Before takes us right into this shimmering eveof the apocalypse, where the audience, performers, percussionists, and a choir of young women unite as a community bound by fate. Homer’s Iliad, the primal myth of warlike violence, serves as the blueprint for an intoxicating celebration on the brink of the abyss.
