Plug & Play at the Night of Museums
In addition to the Stimmen der Stadt concert, musicians from all over the world who have made their way to Hanover will be performing at three art venues on Saturday 6 June – the Wilhelm Busch Museum, the Drees Gallery and the RosebuschVerlassenschaften.
Through musical performances, they showcase the instruments and music of their homeland. A small but exquisite programme, curated by Morena Piro, which brings diversity to life and forges connections between places, people and musical worlds. In collaboration with the MusikZentrum Hannover / Centre for World Music
Wilhelm Busch Museum
7 – 9 p.m. DJ annito
Annito dances with you to music from exquisite vinyl and takes more than just secret delight in the riches that the world of music bestows upon us. There are leaps across continents and shifts in time, but the groove and funk endure, building bridges across space and time.
Galerie Drees
7 p.m. Anna & Svitlana Sonyk
Anna Sonyk brings the bandura, Ukraine’s national instrument, to the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen. Together with her daughter, she creates a personal concert experience that bridges European and Middle Eastern musical cultures. Ukrainian songs, delicate soundscapes and stories of home, loss and new beginnings come together to create a moving evening full of surprising twists and turns.
9:15 p.m. Trio Talan
Three musicians, five instruments, many stories: Trio Talan blends Persian and Kurdish musical traditions with Italian Baroque and jazz influences to create a fluid soundscape that bridges the past and the present. Hesam Asadi (vocals, kamancheh & daf), Claas-Henning Dörries (double bass) and Francesco Cascarano (guitar, theorbo) blend familiar melodies with free improvisation – at times calm and contemplative, at others rhythmic and powerful.
RosebuschVerlassenschaften
Königliche Braut
6 – 11 p.m.
During Museum Night, the Königliche Braut brass band will be performing at the Rosebusch Estate, a total work of art. Throughout the evening, the band will improvise using their instruments and objects from the estate, creating a unique auditory experience that interacts with the art space. Anyone familiar with the Königliche Braut will experience them in a completely different musical light at the estate.
