It was a blast.

Successful conclusion of the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen 2026.

Successful conclusion of the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen 2026.
Save the date for the upcoming edition from 14.5 to 30.5 2027

The KunstFestSpiele came to a close over the weekend of 6–7 June with a community picnic at the festival centre, the open-air concert Stimmen der Stadt as part of the Night of Museums, a post-digital morning ritual in the Großer Garten, and, last but not least, the spectacular colour battle by WASCO! in the DHC Hall.

We can look back on one of the festival’s most successful editions, despite the budget cuts introduced this year. We would like to thank the approximately 19,000 visitors who attended the events of the 2026 festival. We are proud and delighted by all the artistic experiences we were able to share with the audience, and grateful for the audience’s curiosity and trust in the new team led by Artistic Director Brigitta Muntendorf.

With our new programme strand Art, Technology and Society, as well as new artistic formats that incorporate club culture, among other things, we believe we have also reached a much younger audience. This is particularly true of events such as The Day Before, DIE TONIGHT – LIVE FOREVER. A Club Opera, Electric Art Monday, the Post-Digital Morning Ritual in the Großer Garten, and the events for children and families. Furthermore, our core audience, which has grown steadily over the years, as well as the press, gave unanimously positive feedback on the concerts, theatre, performances and installations, as well as the organisation.

A huge thank you also goes to all the artists, the team at the Herrenhausen Gardens, and all our partners and sponsors who support us and make the festival possible.

And, of course, we’d like to share the most important news with you right away: our Save the Date for next year’s festival. The 18th edition of the KunstFestSpiele will take place from Fri 14.5 to Sun 30.5 2027. We look forward to seeing you again then and celebrating art together!
