SpektakelAkademie gets off to a successful start

Kick-off with AI talk in Herrenhausen. Next event: 29 April (with Aleida Assmann and Jörn Leonhard)

The SpektakelAkademie kicked off on 8 April at Herrenhausen Palace with a highly topical theme. In a session entitled Energy-hungry AI: Sustainable Pathways to Greater Artificial Intelligence, experts from the worlds of science and the arts discussed the environmental challenges and opportunities presented by AI in front of an audience of over 200 interested listeners. The event was organised jointly by the KunstFestspiele, the VolkswagenStiftung and Leibniz University Hannover.

AI researcher Marius Lindauer and media artists Christiane Kühl and Chris Kondek provided fascinating insights into their work and perspectives. The focus was on how sustainability can be directly integrated into AI technologies and what responsibility users also bear in this regard.

Anyone who missed the opening event or would like to watch the discussion again can access a recording on YouTube.

Continued on 29 April: Acts of Peace in Times of War

The SpektakelAkademie continues its programme on 29 April with an evening discussion entitled Acts of Peace in Times of War – How can war be ended?
The event will take place at the Orangerie in Herrenhausen and is organised jointly by the KunstFestSpiele, the HANNAH ARENDT DAYS and the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover.

It marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of the philosopher Hannah Arendt, as well as the upcoming premiere of the musical theatre production The Day Before by Brigitta Muntendorf, Christiane Jatahy and Rosa Montero.

Drawing on the myth of the Iliad and the reflections of Hannah Arendt and Simone Weil on violence, power and freedom, the evening will address a central and highly topical question: How can wars be ended?

Guests include cultural and literary scholar Aleida Assmann and historian Jörn Leonhard. The discussion will be moderated by Michael Köhler (Deutschlandfunk).
