All we hear is sound. And drummers are the musical mediators of these sounds. They don't have an instrument, but use their bodies to make different objects soundable.
The drummer and composer Johannes Fischer has sharpened his senses for timbres and material properties since childhood. He should actually have his program wood | metal | glass | skin | water | clay as part of the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen.
Johannes Fischer is now playing a unique online concert for us for the digital edition of the KunstFestSpiele. Among others, the following works will be played:
Johannes Fischer: study for electrified table (2020)
Erik Griswold: Switch (for three flower pots)
John Cage / Johannes Fischer: Variations on a Dream (for Kalimba and various percussion instruments)
Chris Cree Brown: Little red toy piano (for toy piano and fixed media)
Johannes Fischer: Air (for snare drum and accessories)
