About the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen
The KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen is an outstanding festival with music-theatre, performances, concerts and installations. A total of 22 productions will be presented from 18 May to 3 June 2018 in around 60 events in the Herrenhausen Gardens and the city of Hanover. Alongside two installations, one festival production and the premiere of a festival commission, numerous other formats specially developed for the KunstFestSpiele can be seen. In his third year as festival director, Ingo Metzmacher has put together a unique programme with new artistic highlights that overcome boundaries and connect artists and audience.
The central festival venues – the Galerie and Orangerie, the Großer Garten, the Arne-Jacobsen-Foyer and for the first time the Berggarten – are situated within the magnificent setting of the Herrenhausen Gardens. As venues outside the gardens, the Marktkirche and the Kuppelsaal of the HCC Congress Centrum take the festival into the heart of the city. In the Spiegelzelt, the lively centre of the KunstFestSpiele, festival participants and audience can meet in a relaxed atmosphere.
For the first time this year’s festival will feature a KunstFestSpiele Campus, taking place around the central Spiegelzelt, to which students and lecturers from five universities in Lower Saxony have been invited.
