Akademie der Spiele

Workshops for children and young adults

Looking over artists’ shoulders, swapping ideas with them, taking part in the varied preparations for a concert, performance or sound-and-light installation, experiencing rehearsals and finding out more about the individual sound worlds of unfamiliar music – all this is offered by the workshops of the Akademie der Spiele.

In 2016 the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen once again invite you to an accompanying series of creative workshops. Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz is the inspiration for them in his conviction that surprise and amazement contain a productive force. All his life, Leiniz was driven by a profound and not only scientific curiosity, and by the sense that pleasure and knowledge should be linked at all costs in order to further the sciences.

Participation is open to children and young people between 10 and 17, with and without musical training. Interest in communicating and working with the festival’s internationally renowned artists is all that is required. Following Leibniz’s forward-looking idea, the focus is on sharpening acoustic and visual perception, and thus on discovering one’s own creativity. The highlight and an integral part of each workshop is attending the respective performance.
